European Ai-Powered Gender Based Violence Reduction Initiative
AI for a Safer Tomorrow
Discover how SHIELD is using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence to detect and prevent gender-based violence among youth. From chatbots to digital tools, we’re rethinking safety in the digital age.
Our interactive chatbot gives young people a safe, anonymous space to identify risks, ask questions, and get help. Technology meets trust to protect what matters most.
United for Change
Backed by expert organisations from across Europe, SHIELD is more than a project — it’s a movement. Together, we’re building a future where education, technology and community action stop violence before it starts.
What is SHIELD project?
SHIELD is a European initiative aiming to reduce gender-based violence (GBV) among youth by leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence. Focused on issues such as stalking, sexual harassment, dating violence and online grooming, SHIELD introduces innovative tech tools to empower young people, educators and youth workers.
Our mission
Our goal is to foster safer spaces for young people by raising awareness, enhancing early detection, and providing immediate support through AI-powered solutions. By combining education, technology, and advocacy, we aim to influence both policy and practice at national and European levels.
What we do?
Design and launch an AI-driven chatbot and app to identify and respond to GBV risks.
Set up an online Training and Awareness Platform for youth workers and educators.
Deliver educational campaigns to promote GBV awareness in schools and communities.
Conduct ethical and policy research on the use of AI in sensitive social contexts.
Develop a robust communication and dissemination strategy to ensure long-term impact.
